How MyCare works with the NHS App
You can view your hospital appointments using MyCare or the NHS App.
Both are secure and free to use. However, they show different levels of information
MyCare
MyCare gives you the most complete view of your hospital information because it connects directly to our electronic patient record system.
With MyCare, you can:

View all upcoming hospital appointments

Read appointment letters

View test results as soon as they are available*

Access clinic letters and documents

See your recorded allergies

View personalised health information and resources

Go paperless and stop receiving letters by post

Receive secure messages from your consultant or care team

Complete questionnaires before your hospital visit (for example, pre-operative forms)
*Some sensitive or complex results will not appear online. Your care team will discuss these with you directly.
NHS App
The NHS App provides a simpler view of your hospital appointments.
With the NHS App, you can:

View some upcoming appointments

Read appointment letters

See some test results (where supported)
How MyCare and the NHS App work together

MyCare holds the full hospital record information available to you.

Appointment and letter information from MyCare is shared with the NHS App.

The NHS App displays a smaller selection of this information and less features such as the option to go paperless.

The NHS App sends notifications within the app.

MyCare sends text message (SMS) alerts.
If you want the most complete information about your hospital care, MyCare is recommended.
Which one should I use?
You can use either system.

Use MyCare for the most complete view of your hospital care.

Use the NHS App if you prefer quick access and already use it for other NHS services.
Both are secure and can be accessed on mobile devices or desktop computers.
