Data Security

We take great care to keep your health information private and secure. MyCare uses NHS-approved security and modern encryption to protect your data. It meets all UK laws and NHS standards for privacy.

This page explains:

  • What health information you can see
  • How your information is protected
  • How to manage your security settings
  • How to share your record
  • How to connect MyCare with your own health apps

What health information you can see

MyCare is a window into the hospital information we hold in our electronic patient record, iClip Pro.

You can see:

  • Your appointment details and letters
  • Many of your test results
  • Your questionnaires
  • Parts of your hospital health record
  • Messages from your care team (from some services)

Some information does not appear online, including:

  • Certain sensitive results
  • Some specialist appointments
  • Documents not yet available on the digital system

You will still receive paper letters where required.

If you receive care at more than one Trust using MyCare, you may be able to link your accounts so information appears together.

Your full health record

MyCare does not show everything.

It does not include:

  • GP records
  • Dentist or other provider records
  • Records from hospitals not using MyCare (unless linked)

To learn more about how we use and store your information, please see our  Privacy Notice.

  • Choose a strong password
