Referrals

To access our outpatient service you must be referred by your hospital consultant, GP or midwife. We do not accept self-referrals but if you are experiencing one of the symptoms listed please ask your midwife or GP to refer you.

Your appointment

Please arrive promptly for your appointments. If you miss an appointment or arrive late you will be referred back to your GP.

Your first appointment will last up to 60 minutes and any follow-up appointments up to 30 minutes. At your first appointment we will ask you lots of questions about your symptoms to get a clear idea of your condition, how it is affecting your life, and to help us formulate an appropriate treatment plan. We may carry out an assessment which may include an internal examination with your consent, if necessary.

It's also helpful if you bring a list of any medicines you're taking, along with details of any previous hospital treatment.

Location

St Helier’s Hospital
Block E First floor Gynaecology
(go to the main reception to check in on arrival).

Please be aware that public transport to the hospital and the hospital car park can be very busy, so please allow plenty of time to get to your appointment. If you arrive late or miss your appointment due to travel problems we cannot guarantee that you will be seen, and you may be referred back to your GP.
